2 Years Old

We have a lot of catching up to do!
We left off at 18 months.

Here we are back in June at 19 months.
June was an eventful month for Nevaeh, she saw a potty and decided to use it.
Nevaeh weighed in at 21 .5 lbs
Milena weighed in at 23.5 lbs.
The girls are running and practicing jumping.

Here we are back in July at 20 months.
July was a fun time in OK Falls with our cousins and uncles and aunts.
The girls ran around naked or with dresses on so they can both use the potty if the mood struck.
Nevaeh was still very keen to use the potty and used it 70% of the time all day.
Milena liked to just free style it.
We learnt very quickly how much the girls loved the water and swimming.
We also stopped to think about how much the girls vocabulary has grown.
They loved to play their guitars and sing.
Lego is one of their favorite things and Milena LOVES puzzles and has mastered the
 shapes and farm animal puzzle.
This month we saw lots of pretend play, Nevaeh trying to feed her dolls, or both girls pretending to eat.

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here we are back in August at 21 months.
Nevaeh is using the potty all day and is starting to wake in the night to use it as well.(not always convenient, like at 4 am , 5 am and 6 am )  Naps are consistently dry.  (still put her in a diaper, just in case)
Milena has no interest in the potty and is loving being different on this front for now.
Sleep was better this month.  Some nights only one wake up each.
Both girls sleep 2-3 hours in the afternoons.
Nevaeh had her first hair cut.

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here we are back in September at  22 Months
Nevaeh weighs in at 22 lbs and wears a size 5.5 shoe. Wears 18 - 24 month clothing
Milena weighs in at 25 lbs and wears a size 6.5 shoe. Wears 24 month 2T clothing.
Milena is identifying capital letters in the alphabet.  A,B,D,E,F, G, H, J, K, L, M, N, O, P, R, S, T, U, V, Y
This was a surprise to us when one day I took out a little game that had letters on them , like a flash cards and suddenly she was saying the letters.
Also spontaneously started to sing Happy Birthday and the ABC's from start to end, again surprising us.
Nevaeh loves to play Ready, Set, GO and runs down the hallway and into our arms.
She is engaging in more baby talk with Milena and with us.
Nevaeh is also showing more signs of saying NO confidently to Milena when she wants to keep a toy and makes Milena wait her turn.
This month we also said goodbye to our Grandpa Henderson, he passed away on Sept 5, 2013.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Here we are back in October at 23 months
We went to CUBA!!!

We also went to the pumpkin patch, but decided not to celebrate Halloween this year.

Our sister Jessica is getting Married, really soon, and we helped her Celebrate at her Bridal Shower.

A Birthday at the Beach.

Here we are now, November at 24 months, 2 years old,
we cannot believe the
growth these two have done over these past 2 years.
Our lives have changed forever and for that we thank our Surrogate for
without her gift we would never have these two miracles.
We are so grateful to our clinic and Dr. Shivani.

I do not have any stats to share with the girls weights, we have a Dr.s appointment this week to have them weighed, and height measured.  I also realize how we really do not go to the Dr.s with the girls. They have been exceptionally healthy, and I fear I may have jinx it now with saying that, but it has been
 healthy year for us.

Our second cake.

Until next time.......

A Day in the Park with Baba and Deda.

I went to a photography workshop last weekend and I was re inspired to take photos that mean something to me, rather than striving for the perfect magazine photo.

Here are just a few from a few hundred shots that day in the park with my parents, Baba and Deda.

I did put a video of this together but Blogger will not let me load it.
If you have face book this is the link.

Feeding the Ducks and watching the seagulls attacking.

Nevaeh

Mila, very curious about this new cane that Baba is using.

We can only capture one child, the other is on the loose, See Below... ha

Have a great week everyone.

This month was filled with Pumpkin Patches, our Baba and Deda's Slava, Halloween  and our 1st Birthday.

Nevaeh/ Milena

Our 1st year with all our special moments.

Not so impressed with being put down in the mud.

Mila thinking she can roll this all the way home.

Baba and Deda with all the Grandchildren at Slava.

Sometimes, I do smile for the camera.

Happy Halloween.

We had an early Cake Smash before our real birthday.

We made a real good mess!

Nevaeh

Milena

We love being one.

I have spent a lot of time thinking about where we were and what we were doing a year ago.
It is very emotional and sometimes overwhelming to come to terms with the gifts that our beautiful surrogate bestowed upon us.   There really  is not a day that passes that I do not think about Ms S. and all the love she gave to our girls as they grew.  I am forever grateful and feel so very blessed.
I am also grateful to Dr. Shivani and the team at SCI for all their support and helping our dreams come true.

To my girls, you have changed this family, you have changed me in a way that is indescribable and feel so blessed that you choose us.   I love you so very much.   Love Momma.
