Week 9 and 10
The past 2 weeks have just flown by and man are we ever busy, busy, busy. The babies seem to sleep off each other now during the day so that makes things smoother. So Milena seems to like to sleep until 10 am , while Nevaeh likes to be up between 8 am and 10 am , then Milena is up from 10 am to noon and like wise Nevaeh sleeps from 10 am to noon, and so on our day goes.
Milena is breastfeeding the most, with only 6 - 9 oz in a 24 hour period for top ups and Nevaeh is getting more top ups and only coming to the breast 2-3 times a day. We are working on her getting on more so that we can have both girls down off the top ups and more on the breast milk.
We had a Dr check up this week ( our Dr is on Mat leave so her replacement was in ) , that was a really bad experience. 1st I was telling her about seen a lactation consultant, the Dr rolled her eyes and say, "Oh, one of those." Little does she know I am one of those!
Then she went on to, let's start our appointment with this one, "Heaven spelt backwards." referring to Nevaeh, I almost fell off my chair. I was so shocked that I did not say thing, I was still so shocked at her unprofessional comments with the Lactation consultant remark I could not speak.
Then she went on to assume Rich, the girls father was their grandfather. What happened was, she was handing him some papers and commented, " OK, Grandpa you get to hold the papers." Again, speechless and falling off my chair.
Needless to say I am not returning if the girls are healthy until April when our REAL Dr. returns back to work.
I wish I could turn back time and go back to that appointment and speak up and correct and maybe even educate her a little but I was caught so off guard. I am in my happy place and assume everyone gets me and my happy place, forgetting that some have no filters and will bring me out of that happy space.
Today, I am happy and not giving it all that much thought other than to share this with you.
On to other news, the girls are grown like mad, Milena is 9 lbs 3 oz and Nevaeh is 8 lbs 3 oz.
Both are smiling when they see us, Nevaeh more than Milena. Nevaeh is laughing out loud now when we amuse her or when she stares off in space and finds something there funny.
Here are a few pics from weeks 9 and 10.

Week 9
Week 10
Milena always looks like she is punching Nevaeh, rest assured this is a balled fist resting on her sisters chest.
Although Nevaeh looks shocked, she is laughing in delight.
A little tummy time.

8 Weeks
We had our first week alone. Meaning, I was alone with both girls for the first time this week. All went well!
I am still working on my milk supply and I have a plan to feed both non stop for the next 4 days to see if my supply will increase. Thus far I have been feeding them every 3 hours and then topping them up with 20 mls of donor milk or formula.
Here are a few pictures from this week.
Nevaeh/ Milena
Milena weighed in at 8 lbs 6 oz
Nevaeh weighed in at 7 lbs 6 oz
